Gophers basketball is just around the corner! The first home game for the Gophers at the Barn is Tuesday November 1, 2011 versus Bemidji. Tip off is at 7:00pm.

They surprised many analysts when they defeated North Carolina and West Virginia to win the Puerto Rico Tipoff Championship. Tubby Tip-Off Event Was Awesome

The Tubby Tip-Off Event took place last Friday night on October 15th. There was a scrimmage, dunk contest, and 3 point contest for all the fans to watch. This team clearly has a lot of potential and could definitely threaten for the Big Ten title. I can't wait to start visiting Williams Arena and seeing the Minnesota Gopher basketball team on the court. Trevor Mbakwe looked impressive, as did many of the newcomers. I believe in Tubby Smith and think he can get Minnesota to the elite status in the Big Ten. Can't wait for the season!

Congratulations to the Minnesota Golden Gophers who made it to the NCAA Tournament! I wish the first round game was at Williams Arena, so that I could go (I know the NCAA Tournament does not work that way, but I LOVE basketball games at Williams Arena!)
