Penn State and Michigan Will Not Visit Williams Arena

After the basketball schedule for the Golden Gophers was recently announced, I found myself feeling very sad. At first I was wondering why I felt so sad and now I realize that it is because Penn State and Michigan won't be visiting the Barn. I know what you're thinking Michigan's a very good team we should be glad that we don't have to play them as much. Here are my two cents on why I'm going to miss these teams next year.

Penn State is not good at all. I love when they come to the Barn because they suck so I love going to the Barn and watching the Gophers pick up an easy win. Michigan is the team I really wish was coming to the Barn. The gophers play so well at home and a win against a Michigan team that is expected to be ranked could really boost their resume. At least we will still get a shot at the Buckeyes

Minnesota Gophers Will Be Back Next Season

Tubby Smith is still in Dinkytown. The Minnesota Gophers ended the 2010-2011 season short of what they hoped for, but next year is a fresh start. The Minnesota Gophers will be returning some key players and bringing in some solid recruits. Williams Arena will once again be jam-packed for Minnesota Gophers games. I'm sure there will be plenty of news in the offseason that will keep us occupied until the season comes around. Be sure to check here for new updates!

Williams Arena Quiet Now Means Gopher Basketball Season is Over

Williams Arena will be quiet now until next season. That means that the Minnesota Gophers 2010-2011 regular season schedule is over. The Minnesota Gophers played their last home game of the year on Sunday, March 6th against the Penn State Nittany Lions. Unfortunately, the Minnesota Gophers fell 66-63, capping a rough end to the year, in which they lost 8 of their last 9. The team will have to win the Big Ten Tournament in order to qualify for the NCAA Tournament. Williams Arena will be waiting until next season when the Minnesota Gophers will be ready for another season in the Big Ten.

The Minnesota Gophers are flying high right now at Williams Arena. Currently ranked #20 in the country, the Minnesota Gophers are 10-1 and are generating interest from all over the nation. They surprised many analysts when they defeated North Carolina and West Virginia to win the Puerto Rico Tipoff Championship. Gopher Basketball Has Started at Williams Arena

The Minnesota Gopher basketball team has high hopes for this season. After qualifying for the NCAA Tournament the last 2 seasons, the bar is higher for the Minnesota Gophers this season. Tubby Smith believes this team can go far and contend for the Big Ten Title. Every Gopher fan needs to make plans to get over to Williams Arena and see the Maroon and Gold in action! Tubby Tip-Off Event Was Awesome

The Tubby Tip-Off Event took place last Friday night on October 15th. There was a scrimmage, dunk contest, and 3 point contest for all the fans to watch. This team clearly has a lot of potential and could definitely threaten for the Big Ten title. I can't wait to start visiting Williams Arena and seeing the Minnesota Gopher basketball team on the court. Trevor Mbakwe looked impressive, as did many of the newcomers. I believe in Tubby Smith and think he can get Minnesota to the elite status in the Big Ten. Can't wait for the season!

Williams Arena Tickets can be both easy and hard to come by, it depends on how the Gopher Basketball team is performing. Traditionally, the face value of Williams Arena tickets are going to range from $30 to about $45. However, top Gopher basketball Big Ten games often sell out and if you want to sit at center court, you have to buy from local ticket brokers. When buying from Minnesota ticket brokers, expect to pay between $75 to $199 per gopher basketball ticket. Williams Arena Atmosphere is one of a kind

Right across the street from Mariucci Arena, Williams Arena is in a great location on the University of Minnesota Minneapolis campus. Frat boys can walk there, suburbanites can park in one of the many ramps around and bar-goers in Dinkytown might be inebriated enough to walk the half-mile to Williams Arena.

I was recently at Williams Arena for the Colorado State game, which the Gophers men’s basketball team dominated. But it was more than the score of the game and the predictable outcome. It was what the atmosphere of Williams Arena brought me back to, that is, my playing days in high school. Williams Arena is the cavernous Target Center. It is more cozy and friendly. It’s more like, you know, a barn. I scored the Golden Gophers men’s basketball tickets from my boss, and watching Tubby Smith and his old-school pressing tactics really flooded with me memories.

Not to mention the student section at Williams Arena was an absolute hoot. There were five people dressed up in full ape costumes making a spectacle out of themselves. “The Barn” is always filled with a raucous student section consequently titled “The Barnyard” if you didn’t know.
